Significance of Constitution Day 2023:

This day is observed to mark the significance of the constitutional values amongst the citizens of India. In the year 2015, it was declared as the constitution day as a part of the celebration on the 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.This day is celebrated to create awareness of the importance of the Indian constitution and the main contributor, Dr BR Ambedkar.

Children's Day : भारत में 1964 से पहले तक बाल दिवस 20 नवंबर को मनाया जाता था, लेकिन जवाहरलाल नेहरू के निधन के बाद उनके जन्मदिन अर्थात 14 नवंबर को बाल दिवस के रूप में मनाने का फैसला किया गया. कई देशों में एक जून को बाल दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाता है. कुछ देश संयुक्त राष्ट्र की घोषणा के अनुरूप 20 नवंबर को बाल दिवस मनाते हैं. आइए जानते हैं ऐसी ही रोचक जानकारी.


Children's Day: 14 नवंबर की तारीख इतिहास में स्वतंत्र भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू के जन्मदिन के तौर पर दर्ज है. इस दिन को बाल दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाता है. 14 नवंबर 1889 को उत्तर प्रदेश के इलाहाबाद में जन्में जवाहरलाल नेहरू को बच्चों से खासा लगाव था और बच्चे उन्हें ‘‘चाचा नेहरू’’ कहकर पुकारते थे. भारत में 1964 से पहले तक बाल दिवस 20 नवंबर को मनाया जाता था, लेकिन जवाहरलाल नेहरू के निधन के बाद उनके जन्मदिन अर्थात 14 नवंबर को बाल दिवस के रूप में मनाने का फैसला किया गया.


कई देशों में एक जून को बाल दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाता है. कुछ देश संयुक्त राष्ट्र की घोषणा के अनुरूप 20 नवंबर को बाल दिवस मनाते हैं. आइए जानते हैं ऐसी ही रोचक जानकारी.


  • भारत में पहली बार बाल दिवस साल 1956 में मनाया गया था.
  • 1964 में पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू के निधन के पहले तक 20 नवंबर को बाल दिवस मनाया जाता था.
  • इसके बाद संसद में प्रस्ताव लाकर 20 नवंबर की जगह 14 नवंबर को बाल दिवस मनाया जाने लगा.
  • ब्रिटेन एक ऐसा देश है, जहां बाल दिवस नहीं मनाया जाता है.
  • अभी भी दुनिया के लगभग 50 देश ऐसे हैं, जो एक जून को बाल दिवस मनाते हैं.

  • Children’s Day 2021: Children’s Day or Bal Diwas is celebrated across the country on November 14. The day marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. Fondly called Chacha Nehru by children, he advocated for an all-rounded education of children that would build a better society in the future. Jawaharlal Nehru considered children the real strength of a nation and foundation of society.

    Prior to Pandit Nehru’s death, India celebrated Childrens Day on November 20 -- the day observed as World Children’s Day by the United Nations. After the death of the first prime minister, his birth anniversary was chosen as the date for Children's Day in India.

                    Children’s Day 2021: History And Significance

    After the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, a resolution was passed in the Indian Parliament to mark his birth anniversary as Children’s Day.

    Apart from tribute to Pandit Nehru, Children’s Day also aims to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. In Jawaharlal Nehru’s words, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”

    Schools hold sports events, quiz competitions and other activities to celebrate Children’s Day. Children are presented with toys, sweets and gifts to make the day special for them.

NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATION

 



National Education Day is celebrated in India every year on November 11. 
It is the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, eminent educationist and the first Education Minister of independent India. As India's first Education Minister, he was convinced that education is a tool of social transformation. He had a clear vision that all individuals should have a right to education that would be National Education Day is celebrated in India every year on November 11.

His well-rounded view of education prompted him to set up apex education bodies like the All India Council of Technical Education and the University Grants Commission. Educational institutions, schools and colleges across the country host functions to celebrate this day.

In India, October 31 is observed as National Unity Day. In 2014, the Indian government implemented it. Every year on October 31, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, is observed to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, an Indian freedom warrior who served as the country’s first deputy prime minister and home minister after independence. He played a key role in uniting the 565 semi-autonomous princely nations and colonial provinces from the British Empire to form the modern nation of India. The nation currently observes Sardar Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day in honor of his contributions to the creation of a unified India.

People celebrate the day by taking part in events like runs for unity. Most people recognize Sardar Patel as one of the founding fathers of the Indian Republic. This is because shortly after India and Pakistan were divided, he was instrumental in uniting the separate provinces into a single India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel created a great deal of legislation to drive the British out of India and free its citizens from their oppressive domination. Numerous Indian leaders spoke up to ask the British to leave their country because of their bad treatment of all Indians. Born on 15th October 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, specialized in Aeronautical Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology. Dr. Kalam made significant contribution as Project Director to develop India's first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) which successfully injected the Rohini satellite in the near earth orbit in July 1980 and made India an exclusive member of Space Club. He was responsible for the evolution of ISRO's launch vehicle programme, particularly the PSLV configuration. After working for two decades in ISRO and mastering launch vehicle technologies, Dr. Kalam took up the responsibility of developing Indigenous Guided Missiles at Defence Research and Development Organisation as the Chief Executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP). He was responsible for the development and operationalisation of AGNI and PRITHVI Missiles and for building indigenous capability in critical technologies through networking of multiple institutions. He was the Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister and Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development from July 1992 to December 1999. During this period he led to the weaponisation of strategic missile systems and the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in collaboration with Department of Atomic Energy, which made India a nuclear weapon State. He also gave thrust to self-reliance in defence systems by progressing multiple development tasks and mission projects such as Light Combat Aircraft.

As Chairman of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) and as an eminent scientist, he led the country with the help of 500 experts to arrive at Technology Vision 2020 giving a road map for transforming India from the present developing status to a developed nation. Dr. Kalam has served as the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, in the rank of Cabinet Minister, from November 1999 to November 2001 and was responsible for evolving policies, strategies and missions for many development applications. Dr. Kalam was also the Chairman, Ex-officio, of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) and piloted India Millennium Mission 2020.

Dr. Kalam took up academic pursuit as Professor, Technology & Societal Transformation at Anna University, Chennai from November 2001 and was involved in teaching and research tasks. Above all he took up a mission to ignite the young minds for national development by meeting high school students across the country.

In his literary pursuit four of Dr. Kalam's books - "Wings of Fire", "India 2020 - A Vision for the New Millennium", "My journey" and "Ignited Minds - Unleashing the power within India" have become household names in India and among the Indian nationals abroad. These books have been translated in many Indian languages.

Dr. Kalam is one of the most distinguished scientists of India with the unique honour of receiving honorary doctorates from 30 universities and institutions. He has been awarded the coveted civilian awards - Padma Bhushan (1981) and Padma Vibhushan (1990) and the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna (1997). He is a recipient of several other awards and Fellow of many professional institutions.

Dr. Kalam became the 11th President of India on 25th July 2002. His focus is on transforming India into a developed nation by 2020.
