Munshi Premchand (1880-1936) was an Indian writer, novelist, and playwright, widely regarded as one of the greatest Hindi writers of all time. He is known for his influential works in the Hindi-Urdu literature, which often explored themes of social reform, rural life, and the struggles of the common man.

Early Life:

Premchand was born Dhanpat Rai Srivastava on July 31, 1880, in Lamhi, a village in Uttar Pradesh, India. His father was a clerk in the postal department, and his mother was a homemaker. Premchand's early life was marked by poverty and hardship, which would later influence his writing.

Career:

Premchand began writing under the pseudonym "Nawab Rai" but later adopted the pen name "Premchand." He wrote his first novel, "Asrar-e-Ma'abid" (The Secrets of the Temple), in 1903. However, it was his novel "Sevasadan" (The House of Service), published in 1919, that brought him widespread recognition.

- "Godan" (The Gift of a Cow), considered his masterpiece

- "Nirmala," a novel about social reform

- "Kafan" (The Shroud), a short story collection

- "Mansarovar," a collection of eight volumes of short stories

The tiger is the largest of the world’s big cats and this magnificent creature, with its distinctive orange and black stripes and beautifully marked face, has a day that is dedicated to it.

International Tiger Day has been created so that people around the world can raise awareness for tiger conservation. The aim of the day is to help promote a worldwide system whereby we are dedicated to protecting tigers and their natural habitats.

We can also use this day to support tiger conservation issues and to raise awareness. After all, when more people are aware of something, they are going to be more inclined to help, and that is why this day is so important.

There are a number of different issues that tigers all around the world face. There are a number of treats that are driving tigers close to extinction, and we can do our bit to make sure that we do not lose these incredible creatures. Some of the threats that tigers face include poaching, conflict with humans, and habitat loss.

Poaching and the illegal trade industry is a very worrying one. This is the biggest threat that wild tigers face. Demand for tiger bone, skin, and other body parts is leading to poaching and trafficking. This is having a monumental impact on the sub-populations of tigers, resulting in localized extinctions. We often see tiger skins being used in home decor.

Moreover, bones are used for medicines and tonics. This has seen illegal criminal syndicates get involved in the tiger trade in order to make huge profits. It really is a worrying industry. In fact, it is thought to be worth 10 billion dollars per annum in the United States alone. This is why we need to support charities and work hard to put an end to poaching and the illegal trade of tiger parts.

While this represents the biggest threats to tigers, there are a number of other threats as well. This includes habitat loss. Throughout the world, tiger habitats have reduced because of access routes, human settlements, timber logging, plantations, and agriculture.

In fact, only around seven percent of the historical range of a tiger is still intact today. That is an incredibly small and worrying amount. This can increase the number of conflicts between tigers, as they roman about and try to locate new habitats. Not only this, but genetic diversity can reduce because it can cause there to be inbreeding in small populations.

कारगिल विजय दिवस - 26 जुलाई - एक स्मृति और गर्व का प्रतीक 

कारगिल युद्ध: एक स्मृति और गर्व का प्रतीक कारगिल विजय दिवस स्वतंत्र भारत के सभी देशवासियों के लिए एक बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण दिवस है। भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष 26 जुलाई को यह दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस दिन भारत और पाकिस्तान की सेनाओं के बीच वर्ष 1999 में कारगिल युद्ध हुआ था जो लगभग 60 दिनों तक चला और 26 जुलाई के दिन उसका अंत हुआ और इसमें भारत विजय हुआ। कारगिल विजय दिवस युद्ध में शहीद हुए भारतीय जवानों के सम्मान हेतु यह दिवस मनाया जाता है।

इतिहास -

1971 के भारत-पाक युद्ध के बाद भी कई दिन सैन्य संघर्ष होता रहा। इतिहास के मुताबित दोनों देशों द्वारा परमाणु परीक्षण के कारण तनाव और बढ़ गया था। स्थिति को शांत करने के लिए दोनों देशों ने फरवरी 1999 में लाहौर में घोषणा पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए। जिसमें कश्मीर मुद्दे को द्विपक्षीय वार्ता द्वारा शांतिपूर्ण ढंग से हल करने का वादा किया गया था लेकिन पाकिस्तान ने अपने सैनिकों और अर्ध-सैनिक बलों को छिपाकर नियंत्रण रेखा के पार भेजने लगा और इस घुसपैठ का नाम "ऑपरेशन बद्र" रखा था। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य कश्मीर और लद्दाख के बीच की कड़ी को तोड़ना और भारतीय सेना को सियाचिन ग्लेशियर से हटाना था। पाकिस्तान यह भी मानता है कि इस क्षेत्र में किसी भी प्रकार के तनाव से कश्मीर मुद्दे को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्दा बनाने में मदद मिलेगी।[2] प्रारम्भ में इसे घुसपैठ मान लिया था और दावा किया गया कि इन्हें कुछ ही दिनों में बाहर कर दिया जाएगा लेकिन नियंत्रण रेखा में खोज के बाद इन घुसपैठियों के नियोजित रणनीति के बारे मे पता चला जिससे भारतीय सेना को एहसास हो गया कि हमले की योजना बहुत बड़े पैमाने पर की गयी है। इसके बाद भारत सरकार ने ऑपरेशन विजय नाम से 2,00,000 सैनिकों को कारगिल क्षेत्र मे भेजा। यह युद्ध आधिकारिक रूप से 26 जुलाई 1999 को समाप्त हुआ। इस युद्ध के दौरान 527 सैनिकों ने अपने जीवन का बलिदान दिया और 1400 के करीब घायल हुए थे।

कारगिल युद्ध: एक स्मृति और गर्व का प्रतीक -

कारगिल दिवस हर साल 26 जुलाई को मनाया जाता है ताकि हम उन वीर जवानों को सम्मान दे सकें जिन्होंने 1999 में कारगिल युद्ध में अपने प्राणों की आहुति दी थी। यह युद्ध भारतीय सेना के और पाकिस्तानी सेना के बीच हुआ था, जब पाकिस्तानी सेना ने बिना सूचना दिए कश्मीर के कारगिल सेक्टर में अपनी सेना भेज दी थी। इससे पहले, कश्मीर में युद्ध तो होते रहते थे, लेकिन यह युद्ध एक बड़ी और महत्वपूर्ण घटना थी जिसने पूरे देश को एक साथ खड़ा कर दिया। यह युद्ध बता रहा था कि भारतीय सेना की ताकत और जांबाजी पर कोई सवाल नहीं उठा सकता है। वीर जवानों ने हिम्मत और साहस का प्रतीक दिखाया और दुश्मन को पूरी तरह से पराजित किया। इस दिवस पर हमें याद रखना चाहिए कि उन शहीदों ने अपनी जानों की कुर्बानी देकर हमें यह सुरक्षित और स्वतंत्र देश में रहने का मौका दिया है। हमें उनका आभारी रहना चाहिए और हमें उनकी साहस, पराक्रम और बलिदान की कड़ी याद करनी चाहिए। कारगिल दिवस न सिर्फ एक समारोह है, बल्कि यह एक संकेत है कि हमें हमारी सेना की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका और उनके योगदान को समझना चाहिए। हमें इस अवसर का सम्मान करना चाहिए और सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए कि हम हमेशा अपने वीर जवानों के साथ हैं। इसलिए, इस कारगिल दिवस पर हमें अपने मन में एक समर्पण और श्रद्धांजलि भाव रखना चाहिए, ताकि हमारे वीर शहीदों का सम्मान किया जा सके और हम उनके बलिदान को कभी न भूलें।
